JointCare Clinic
JointCare is the Healthcare Group's doctor-led clinic for sports-related injuries and joint, muscle and tendon problems. We offer a sophisticated range of treatments and rehabilitative programs to enhance your recovery and allow you to return to the activities you enjoy.
Dr Nick Dunn offers initial assessment of joint problems, assisted by ultrasound scanning. He can arrange any further investigations deemed necessary to establish early accurate diagnosis. Working with the physiotherapist and osteopaths a co-ordinated approach facilitates targeted therapies to reduce pain, improve function, enhance recovery and reduce future injury risk.
Physiotherapy and Osteopathy
International guideline on managing joint pain emphasise the central role of person-centred care which focusses on education and enablement of people guided by clinicians such as physiotherapists and osteopaths. Our clinicians are highly trained and have a successful track record in early rehabilitation and recovery from joint problems.
Injection Therapies
Dr Dunn is able to provide precision injections to joints using ultrasound scanning to locate anatomical spaces and guide drugs to achieve their maximum effectiveness. This technique allows a wide range of joints which can be injected. This includes most joints other than the spine, from shoulders, knees and hips to elbows, wrists, fingers, heel and toes. He currently uses corticosteroid injections to dampen inflammation and hyaluronic acid injection to "lubricate" arthritic joints.

An allergy is when the body’s immune system over-reacts to something that is harmless to most people. The substance is known as an allergen.
Specific-IgE testing can help to assess if you may be allergic to something. Various types are available: we use one called ALEX-2.
