Dr Ed Partridge is running the Marathon des Sables for Headway Guernsey
On the 10th April Ed Partridge is running the Marathon des Sables for the local Guernsey charity Headway Guernsey.
The Marathon des Sables has been described as the ‘Toughest foot race on earth’. Competitors have to run the equivalent of six marathons in six days, across the sand dunes and Atlas Mountains of the Sahara Dessert, carrying all of their food and equipment for the week.
Headway Guernsey is a local charity supporting islanders and their families who are living with the long-term effects of a brain injury. A brain injury can happen to anyone at any time through a blow to the head in an accident, stroke, an assault, a sports injury, brain haemorrhage, brain tumour, meningitis or encephalitis. Headway Guernsey provides a range of services that bring people together in a supportive environment helping them on their road to recovery to a life back into the community.
