Visitors to Guernsey

Medical Services in Guernsey are outside of the UK National Health Service. The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is not valid in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. This means that, in most circumstances, visitors to Guernsey from the UK and other countries will have to pay a fee for all services, including medical costs, hospital accommodation, x-ray, pathology, pharmacy and physiotherapy. All visitors to the Bailiwick are advised to take out full travel insurance to cover these costs.

If you are visiting the island and need to see a doctor, please call one of our surgeries to make an appointment. We will register you as a temporary patient. We request that you settle any bills at the time of the consultation.
