Ultrasound diagnostics and ultrasound-guided injection therapies
Joint Care offers both diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections.
Ultrasound is a safe and painless way to image your body's injured or painful part. There is no ionising radiation as used in x-rays. Ultrasound visualises the dynamic structure and movement of the joints, muscles, and tendons in real-time. Dr Salem can undertake the scans during the consultation and discuss the results and treatment options with you.
Dr Salem also uses ultrasound to guide therapeutic injections. Ultrasound significantly improves accuracy and is less painful than non-guided injections. Ultrasound-guided therapies include:
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Cortisone
Hyaluronic acid
